So yesterday, I went and was getting my hair washed by the girl that was recommended to me(I will not be saying any names for privacy purposes) and enjoyed talking to her. She kept saying how she loved how longggg and thick my hair was throughout the wash and said she wished her hair was long and grew fast.
She finished washing my hair and we went to her chair. I asked for a trim of 2-3 inches off and to refresh my layers and give me LONG layers in the back. My hair is in face framing layers in the front and my hair went down to past my mid back. So she starts cutting and I see her freshing up my face framing layers and then she starts cutting the back. She was telling me how she never gets the instructor to check her work when she does long layers because they trust her. I am like oh okay cool so this girl is like really good.
Well then she calls the instructor to come check my hair and the instructor brought my hair from the front to the back and it falls right back down my back. I sat there in shock because she cut off WAY more than 2-3 inches of the trim that I wanted.
I am in absolute horrid as I went home. I have been putting so much money and effort into my hair and grew it out for years just for it to be chopped up by a neglectful student.
Now Im sure she does good work but this is so unacceptable. Luckily my hair is health and grows back fast but now Im traumatized to ever go to another salon school again.
This is solely based off my own experience and I really hope this never happens again.
Make sure to know what your hair girl is doing to your hair and have her communicate with you on what shes doing too. All the explaining about her having trust with her instructors made me feel really confident in her and now I regret even going at all.
