Legacy Preparatory Academy is a major disappointment. I would not recommend sending your child(ren) here, especially if they are mixed race. I have a friend whose child is fully African American and they do not bother them at all, but my son who is mixed with African American and Mexican American continuously gets picked on by his teacher. The school says my son does not behave well in school but does not call to tell me of his “bad behavior” . They suspend your child for no reason like talking, for one day and says the child cannot return to school until a conference is held on THEIR terms. I have tried to reschedule this conference since I had to work on Wednesday 4.24.19 and was told it was inconvenient for the principal to meet with me and her only available date would be on Monday 4/29/19 so my son has missed 4 days of school because the principal is unavailable to meet with a parent for at least 5 minutes so my son can return back to school. The front desk staff is unprofessional and uneducated. The teachers are not qualified to handle kids and discipline them properly. the Principal is the worst of all allowing her staff to be so disrespectful in parent-teacher conferences and then they make the parent feel wrong for voicing any opinion against the teachers. This school says they are all for children’s education but the only thing they care about is receiving a check. When students are suspended they wrote lies on the suspension paper and at the end put “the teachers are fed up” this is unprofessional and sad that teachers who are supposed to be educated on discipline are fed up so they send your child home so the teacher can have a break. I have reported this school to the board of education and with chairman Carl Warren if nothing will be done about this school I will continue to go through the proper channels so that this school answers for what they are doing to these children’s education. This school does not even deserve one star.
This school is very unprofessional and rude. The staff shows favoritism to certain students and will suspend you for unnecessary reasons. Most of the teachers are not qualified for teaching. I went there for a while and it is not good for children mental health. They would make your child feel less of what they are. I was wearing my natural hair and the staff was asking me why my hair not done and that it looks a mess. Meanwhile I’m fully black and it made me feel less about my hair. It’s so much I can say about this school till people wouldn’t even believe it. I hope the school board actual does something about this school and a lot of people see this and not take their child through the pain of this school.
