My daughter started Abbot’s Hill last September in year 7. I am a teacher so I know there is a lot of ‘spin’ with what schools say they can do: in the case of Abbot’s Hill it’s genuine not just rhetoric. I was impressed with the open day, by the time of my daughter’s interview, and my meeting with the headteacher, I did feel the school would be the best fit for my child. I was considering two other independent schools but the small class sizes, caring environment and the excellent grades achieved were all part of what my wife and I were looking for. After nearly two terms my daughter is taking opportunities, enjoying learning, sharing what she has learned with us and changing in the most positive ways as she grows. There is real joy in the school, evident in the shows and we are so pleased we made the choice.
My daughter’s experience at Abbot’s Hill has been nothing short of exceptional! The dedicated teachers and supportive staff create a nurturing environment that fosters both academic and personal growth. The school’s commitment to excellence, engaging curriculum, and emphasis on character development make it a standout choice for any parent. I’m grateful for the positive impact Abbot’s Hill has had on my daughter’s education and overall well-being. The positive and supportive atmosphere has truly made a difference in her educational journey. Grateful to be part of such an outstanding school community!
After all the P&O publicity on fire and rehire, this school are doing the same thing to their teachers. ‘Agree to a less beneficial pension scheme or we’ll terminate your employment, but you can reapply but it’ll be on the new, less beneficial, contract.’
Shady business practice from an entity which should focus on quality education and not financial exploitation!
We just spent two days with friends at Abbotts Hill, an ideal place to unwind and relax. Wine tasting with a difference, the horses, the vineyards, the warm owner and the comfortable farm house made the experience so memorable. The cherry on the top was the tour with African Invite to the West Coast, nothing beats a tour guide with so much passion and knowledge about all things nature, birding and wine.
A school that treats its staff horribly, stopping the only thing that’s safe in teaching, secure pensions! Same job, worse conditions! Good luck in staff retention
