I was in betweem 3 and 4 stars. Dino Drop In Belgrade did a little fall pumpkin painting event last year and it was so sweet. We enjoyed it and thought the facility seemed nice enough! So we were excited about bringing our two girls there while we had to unexpectedly car shop. When we dropped them off, the employees were sassy and seemed bothered by our sudden presence (huffing and puffing and sighing, annoyed about explaining Brightwheel), despite the facility being a drop-in daycare. You know that feeling that you get when people treat you as though they’d rather have their teeth pulled than be standing in front of you and your kids? That vibe. And we brushed it off, maybe she was having a hard start to her day. No biggie. We told her our infant would likely have a hard time and we packed all of her comfort items. We also mentioned how nervous we were and had a chat with the owner prior to the drop in, as this was our first daycare experience. The employees called several times, with my daughter wailing crying in the background, asking when we would be back. We rushed through car shopping and came back but with Belgrade’s nortorious traffic being what it is, we were maybe less than 10 minutes late. Upon arriving, the employees didn’t look us in the eye and rushed us out the door, thankful we were soon out of their hair. We settled up and were told there were no additional fees. Weeks later, we were billed ~$40 (I don’t remember the exact number) for a late fee. The experience was extremely lackluster. My babies didn’t die, sure. But I have not been motivated to bring them back. I wouldn’t be sharing this review if two mom friends of mine hadn’t had two similar, lackluster, apathetic experiences with Dino to the point where I think it’s clear that a warning to parents be issued: your child will live, will maybe be clean when you pick them up, but the care will be that of an apathetic teenage babysitter sitting on their phone, leaving the kid to their devices, but the place won’t necessarily burn to the ground. We are in Montana with no family to help and were so hoping for a facility to help us get a break every now and then so we could be better parents. But no such luck with Dino Drop In.
I took my daughter here today for the first time and I honestly can not say enough good things about this place! I was very apprehensive about sending her here because of all the horror stories you hear about centers (drop ins especially) but we were out of options and this was our last resort. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was how spotlessly clean the facility was. I have 2 children and my house is never that clean, I have no idea how they do it with 10 or more running around there! Next, we were greeted immediately by a friendly energetic employee that my daughter instantly took to and she patiently helped me with the sign on process since we had never been in before. Throughout the day I watched her play on the Dino cam and you could tell that the employees really cared for the children and even enjoyed playing along with them. When I picked her up, she was smiling with a full tummy and a freshly changed bottom. It can be very scary trusting your children with a stranger, but I will definitely use Dino Drop in again in the future. You guys absolutely exceeded my expectations!
