Journey has been an incredible blessing, not just for my son, but for our entire family. Initially enrolled in a different chain daycare, he faced challenges with high ratios and frequent staff turnover, leading to sleep struggles and tearful pickups.

In February 2023, my baby joined Journey, instantly transforming our lives for the better. From day one, at just 8 months old, he exuded happiness. After more than a year at Journey, my son has transitioned to his third classroom, with only one teacher departure. As someone who works in childcare, I’ve rarely encountered such a low turnover rate, indicating the teachers’ happiness and dedication to the school and its students.

One remarkable aspect of Journey School is its emphasis on outdoor play and exploration. Even the older kids frequently dine outside on the covered patio! With a focus on outside time and a unique blend of conscious discipline and the Reggio Emilia philosophy, Journey School offers a refreshing approach. Through daily updates like photos and videos, I witness my son thriving in this environment, which includes yoga sessions, daily child-led art projects, and involvement in gardening. The incorporation of animals, from pigs to goats and chickens, along with visits from the school’s service dog, fosters compassion and responsibility. It’s a holistic experience that sets Journey School apart from other daycares. We can’t express our gratitude enough for finding Journey School of Peoria!

When I think of Journey school of peoria, so many amazing words to come to mind! We have been with journey over a year. The leadership team has been exceptional for all the support, love and grace they give to families. My children have begun to thrive even on challenging days. Every classroom is set up with age based in mind to create growth and opportunities for children’s minds to be expanded. Journey finds their own way of connecting with each child individually. You open the door of Journey and know your kids are going to have an amazing day! My boys are picked up and they talk about how much they love their teachers the animals at the school and thrive. We have made so many connections that have allowed for future growth and opportunities for our children. We are blessed to call Journey a preschool that enriches our children daily ! Journey School supports a strong healthy menu that allows children to try different foods at a young age. We appreciate the community connection and community base the school provides for parents and teachers. Handing outdoor time and the educational standards

This is a special, welcoming, truly loving and accommodating school for all children but especially those with special needs. Our son is severely affected by Autism and we were tired of seeing him isolated and patronized in the public school system. Since we started at Journey School our son has made social and educational strides that we never thought possible. And we just started in August of 2021! Journey School is run by a team of compassionate administrators who always put the child’s best interest ahead of everything else. They have been our partners in finding great therapists and supporting our family in ways that have allowed our son to truly thrive. Sometimes this means that their approach looks unusual. For families like us who have tried ABA and found that it was traumatic and often counterproductive for our children they have supported our desire to find alternative approaches. They have also learned from our experiences and the experiences of other families like us. Our son runs into school each day because he is happy and learning, there is no better feeling as a parent! I can’t recommend this school strongly enough!
