Ive been using the Hair school and Wallingford for 14 years and Im grateful they offer reduced pricing. Over the last couple of years Ive had a few problems with not being heard after showing pictures and explaining what I want, even with supervision for the students. I wanted a Brazilian blowout this time($175+) I was told they dont do the Brazilian blowout anymore that they would do a keratin treatment. I was desperate to get it done as I have moved to Florida and waited months just to go to this place as its always been affordable. I have shoulder length hair so I assumed Im at the $175 range. Since they couldnt do the Brazilian, I went with the keratin treat, Which right away they told me was $220. Typically it cost less than a Brazilian blowout, which would keep my hair straight for up to three months. I really just needed to get my hair less frizzy so I went with it. I was forced to purchase the products as part of the package rather than having the option, thats what drove up the price. Back in Florida less than a week. Im struggling, keeping the frizziness out of my hair. Its very frustrating. Also, I brought my daughter with me who had a picture of what she wanted It was basically dark brown hair with little baby lights throughout needless to say, she was almost in tears. I thought it looked beautiful, but it wasnt what she wanted..what she got was chunky highlights. She kept saying she look like a skunk and the kids at school would make fun of her. It was the end of the day so we couldnt stay. We were told that we could come back the next day for a consult but the service was not gonna be free to fix, it would just be reduced. That has never happened before. They have messed up on my hair and fixed it up for free. Just very upset That my daughters hair cost me $125. She has longer hair and they had to use extra foils. Problem is, they never asked me as the parent paying for the service. If that was OK they were charging $40 for each extra foil. A friend of mine had visited and struggled with the same issue With her minor daughter. Long story short, the supervisors need to get on top of this and if theres any sort of upgrade to a service, it needs to be explained to the client. I also dont feel I should be charged. Up to $50 Extra on a service for product that I could buy myself and choose myself.
can confidently say that this school is one of the worst schools out there, if you can find a different school, 100% do it. this school tolerates bullying, sexual harassment, etc etc and will do absolutely nothing to help their students mitigate these issues. bringing up said issues to staff members and instructors will not get you far, as they will completely disregard your complaints and instead place the blame on you. this school will lie to you about finding a job after you graduate, especially graduating their esthetics program. so disappointing honestly ??
This school is horrible! I went in to have a meeting about how the teachers not teaching and being prejudice and showing favoritism to certain students and it was a joke I was told nothing I said was true but I had straight facts. People sitting on tables doing practicals yet I cant sit and Im disabled. People taking off during class she dont know where they went. And doing her own hair in class . Not teaching. The news needs to hear about this! And flirting with students!
