Maybe my expectations were higher than they should’ve been for going to cosmetology school, but I am honestly quite disappointed with my experience. While everyone was kind and friendly, it took almost 3 hours to complete my entire appointment for a basic gel manicure and dip polish removal. It took 5 people and almost 2 hours just to remove the dip polish. The original girl my appointment was with left because she had an allergic reaction to the acetone. It sounds like she was aware of this allergy so I don’t know why more precautions weren’t taken to prevent this. She also had her electronic file turned up too high and I could feel the heat burning under my nails. Once my manicure started, there were no questions about what length and shape I wanted. By the time I realized it, we were starting the polish so I didn’t want to stop her. A couple of the edges of my nails are jagged, there are spots on a couple nails where there is almost like a hole in the polish, and multiple smudges and flaws. Lastly, the nail art I requested is very poorly done. I will probably be going to a different salon to get it fixed. Maybe the design was a little more detailed than I should have expected a student to do. I wish she would have just said she couldn’t do it instead of attempting it and it coming out poorly. I included photos for reference, as well as the picture I showed for the nail art I wanted.
I had a 1 hour full body massage with Alyssa and am very pleased! Alyssa was very thorough and made adjustments to fit my medical needs and concerns. I felt comfortable and will recommend her services to others.
I’m happy to have connected with the Sedalia salon professionals Academy. I will continue to visit for more available services and recommend the Academy to others.
