SO GLAD the district is listening to the majority and seriously considering adjusting the bell schedule so kids won’t be waking before six o’clock in the morning and walking/riding bikes to school in the dark!
My kids’ experience at Meridian Elementary, Westlake and Legacy (so far) have been enriching and positive. District is responsive to concerns which, considering its size, is impressive.
Unfortunately, their bizarre high school math grading policy which actually disincentivizes students who work to improve a failing grade is a big miss for them and certainly for students. The fact that students and parents aren’t notified of this policy is most disappointing.
Unhelpful in every sense. They’d rather tell you sorry, not my problem than do anything to help you. I was told, after a week of my son riding the bus, that he couldn’t get a bus pass bc we live too close and that they won’t even review requests for “space availability” until October. In other words we have to wait a month and half before they will even look into whether or not there is room on the bus for him. It should be as easy as asking the driver, who was the one who tried to get him the bus pass in the first place! But nope, bureaucracy took over so now we have to wait and see. Nonsense
It’s very hard to get someone here for information regarding preschool admission. I was trying to get my son into one particular school for preschool because I have my two other kids go there. I went to the website to fill out application but it wasn’t allowing me to pick this particular school as my first choice. I called, and emailed two different people but its been three days now and no one has even cared to call back to help me. I guess no responsibility here. No one cares!!! Very frustrating!
