Our kids have attended a charter school here in Utah that focused on memorizing facts and simply putting them on a test to potentially never be remembered again. Over the past few years we’ve been on a journey to discover a better way for them to learn. This last year, that search has been intensified because of everything happening in our world (2020). The need to think critically and have curiosity dictate a child’s learning is fundamental to Aim Academy.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Aim Academy and the Acton way of learning. From our perspective, this is simply the best foundation any parent can help provide their children and dismiss the traditional way of learning.

The school has a heightened focus and encourages students to search for their life calling, “A Hero’s Journey”. Teaching content happens through Socratic discussion, tech-enriched online game-based tools, and face-to-face projects (we call them “quests”).

This dedication to learning inverts the traditional power structure of schooling so that students (my kids and your kids) are in control. Essentially, this type of structure allows kids to develop and learn at an early age the best way they learn, because each child is so different. It also lays the foundation for them to help and inspire others to collaborate and work together towards a common goal.

I’d highly recommend connecting with Aim Academy to begin seeing life as a Hero’s Journey and not just a memorization of numbers and facts. Begin learning and living through experience at Aim Academy!!
