Air Force Academy is a great school! Awesome principal that’s very caring and militant. Good school atmosphere for your child, the children wear uniforms, and required to present themselves in a respectable manner at all times. Teachers are very concerned about your child performance in school and will call the parent if the child seems as if they are falling behide. The classroom sizes are great! The staff is wonderful! My daughter is a senior and I don’t regret sending her there.
The Teachers legitimately try. But the school itself is plagued by its surrounding environment. Hopeful students with dreams of the STEM world, or even enlistment in the Airforce are exposed to gangs, drugs, and the like due to AFAHS being nestled near those elements. After a year and a half of being hopeful we removed our child. The last straw was hearing that the Principle was punched in the face by a student, and another threw a desk at a teacher.
Ok i live on west also known as the best side when I choose to go to highschool I wanted Air Force 1 I wanted fly. But when got there first week I saw 6 students jumping a teacher with forks from the cafeteria. I later got my lunch money stolen I transferred to mount Carmel next year and I that school I only saw 1 student jumping a teacher and it was a spoon . I had to take Kung fu lAter that year to protectmyself
