I cannot recommend Xi Laoshi’s AMCH preschool enough. We had been through a total of 5 preschools (the majority of which were Mandarin Immersion Montessori) before enrolling our daughter at AMCH last fall. Xi Laoshi is the BEST teacher with the most patience and love for children that I have ever come across, hands down. She is so devoted to her students and the school and it shines through everything the children experience at the preschool. My child used to cry at drop off because she didn’t want to go to her previous school and she had meltdowns at night/on the weekends to release the pent up negative energy she built up during the day. Now I have to persuade her to leave school because she loves it SO much at AMCH. The hot lunch is so delicious she hardly eats dinner at home now. The children are beaming with happiness and content every single time I visit. Their Lunar New Year performance highlighted the songs, poems, and dances the children learned at school and we could see how much preparation and effort went into the program. I know we will be so sad to leave the preschool when our daughter has to move on to kindergarten next fall but she will enjoy every single day there until that day comes. Thank you Xi Laoshi for pouring your heart and soul into AMCH and into the children that are lucky enough to have you as their beloved teacher.
I would like to give this place 10 stars. This is truly a happy place for the kids. I’ve known the director and the teachers for years. They taught my older one who is a 2nd grader now and my younger one just graduated from there. All the teachers are very loving and patient, my daughters including all the kids are happily learning, playing, and eating everyday. I sent my kids to another school in Berkeley and toured other schools in the past, AMCH is truly the best. Another thing to note, the teachers to students ratio is amazing, others are usually like one teacher for 10-15 students, this place is about one teacher to 3-5 students. If any parents are interested, I would suggest to get on the waitlist as soon as possible, it might take a while to get in.
