We could not be happier that we chose Alphablocks for our son. Having visited and done settling sessions at other nurseries, this one is in a different league. As parents, we have learnt so much about child development thanks to their early years philosophies with a focus on a child-led, Montessori/Reggio Emilia approach.

Our son has additional needs, and we have been blown away by the dedication of the staff, in particular Alex and Daisy, in ensuring that he thrives in the environment. We couldn’t be more appreciative of their extensive SEN knowledge and commitment to making him feel comfortable and confident. I know that they have invested considerable time into putting a plan in place for him, and researching props and toys which meet his sensory needs. When he struggled to settle in at the start, they made up a special Spiderman box with lots of spider toys inside (his favourite thing) to travel to and from nursery with him and ease the transition into the nursery day.

He is a completely different little boy since he started at Alphablocks and his development has jumped ahead, thanks to their varied and stimulating classes. He particularly loves his Spanish class, conducting science experiments, and forest school. He often asks if he can go to nursery at the weekend!

The nursery staff are fantastic at keeping us in the loop with regular updates and photos of our child, as well as blogs, weekly memos and newsletters. We love that they give us a heads up about their book of the week so that we can read along at home.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alphablocks to any prospective parents. My daughter has been with the nursery for around 2 and a half years and I cannot fault it from the wonderful settling in sessions to begin with to the specialist classes.
All staff go above and beyond and know all the children very well. They have taught my daughter so much, she started nursery very shy, timid and leaves to go on to primary school full of confidence and armed with a wealth of experiences from Alphablocks.

The energy and dedication every single member of staff at Alphablocks put in every single week is an inspiration to us. Our daughter has attended for 2 years (1 year to go) and we have the small one signed up to start soon. The mixture of experiences the children get cannot be found anywhere else. Some examples are forest school, Mini Mozart, visiting arts projects, looking after baby chicks… and this is before you even consider care with which each child is nurtured, encouraged and developed to be the best they can be in phonics, maths, writing, reading and general well rounded self confidence. If you believe that early year experiences strongly influence how children feel about themselves and the world around them as well as how they manage their educational settings in later years, then Alphablocks is the right place for your child.

Our daughter had an amazing time there. Her confidence has grown and she has greatly developed curiosity in learning, exploring new things and expanding her creativity. In addition her language skills have developed immeasurably and she is much more interested in nature and in her surroundings. She values peer relationships and is aware of significant adults in her life. She had developed a very positive relationship particularly with her key teachers, that will stay with her.
By the end of the two years she spent there she is more than ready to start reception class.
This is all down to the quality of care and teaching that the staff at Alphablocks have provided;

There is a clear link between their ethos and what they offer on a day to day basis. Whether they are using simple fun activities or more directed ones they all are well thought through, coherent and embedded in to their day throughout and are all relevant to children meeting their developmental milestones.

The Children are encouraged to express and explore their thoughts, feelings and needs without any compromise. This helps them to develop resilience and confidence and also to discover their own unique qualities.

They put a big emphasis on outdoor activities; Forest school is a wonderful way to encourage children to connect with nature and be aware of how significant it is in their lives

It was also very encouraging to see that they were able to meet the needs of the children with (SEN) Special Educational Needs. This also allows children to be exposed to and learn about difference from an early age.

We have a very special bond with Alphablocks as both our boys attended the nursery. Having been to multiple other nurseries, we are very pleased with our choice. The serene nursery setting within the church grounds, and the open-ended activities in line with the Reggio Emilia approach and Montessori method afforded highly engaging and stimulating activities to our children tailored to their individual needs. The teachers have been extremely sensitive to our boys’ needs and gentle during the settling period and beyond. Key staff members are very knowledgeable and leaders in the field of early maths and language education, which we found highly desirable and attractive.
