This school is horrible. The richer kids or founders kids get special treatment, and hardly ever get chewed out by the staff whereas any other student would be chewed out for doing the same thing. Even the other kids at the school are rude and a vast majority are bullies. I’ve seen teachers and principals (middle/high school) favor kids who are known to bully others and hardly punishing them or doing anything to prevent it from happening. While there are a handful of great teachers, a lot of them can be rude and disrespectful. The teachers put unnecessary stress on the students and don’t make it a comfortable environment to try and talk to them about problems or concerns. Even if you do talk to a teacher or staff member (especially the principal) then they won’t actually listen or care. This school isn’t a safe place for anyone who is different in any way shape or form. I’ve witnessed the bullying first hand and experienced it first hand. I’ve heard even teachers say and do problematic things. This school promotes patriotism but never talks about the bad things that come of this country as they push their brainwashing agenda. This school is a toxic environment with toxic people and toxic staff. School is supposed to be a safe place, not a toxic and oppressing environment. If you want to or want your kids to go to school with closed minded people and staff, then this is the place to go.
Small Rural Free Public Charter School. Yearly lottery, many grades have waitlist. Great student to teacher ratio. Rigorous curriculum at all grade levels k-12. Students learn Patriotism, American Heritage, Cowboy Ethics, Dave Ramsey Personal Finance, Leadership Academy, Entrepreneurship, Essential 55, Great Expectations, Sweat Pledge by Mike Rowe and the secondary school uses Summit Learning Curriculum. Many after school clubs and fun activities. Students who meet grade requirements can try out and if selected participate in nearby public school sports teams. Zero tolerance for bullying. Students at secondary level are expected to take ownership and responsibility for their learning so teachers have an active role as mentors to teach them these valuable life skills in addition to teaching mastery of subject matter. Students help clean and take care of the school. Elementary school building built in 1927 and restored in 2013 is an historical landmark listed on the national registry. There is a strict dress code that is enforced. This charter school is not for everyone but it is an excellent school of choice.
