American trucking is overall a good school to get your class A CDL which is what i went to acquire. Although theres many things that aren’t great its definitely a straight forward get in and get out kind of school. No truck in the school is in good condition, except the two trucks that see the road. Even then one grinds 2nd gear, and both have the Check Engine light on when i drove them. They should better maintain their equipment for the price being paid. As expected in this area, Nobody will speak english with you voluntarily. You have to engage the conversation in english, for me it wasnt a big deal since i am bilingual, but for those students who only speak english i found do have a harder time communication with the office employees and instructors. The people at the office throw different directions at you every time you see them, you have to communicate with the students and all instructors as well to actually get the full know around. Juan up front is great and will send you in the right direction every time. Jerome over at inspections is a great person and does everything he can to help you learn the entire truck. Aim for Erick at the L docking. He is great at explaining and teaching you hands on how to park the truck. Same goes for orlando at Lane change. Overall get in get it done and ride out.As for The state Examiners i did my inspections and road Test with Armando he is very professional and will tell you everything straight forward and to the point. The other state examiners also do a great job. If anything should be changed is uniforms for all employees! Very miss leading for new students not knowing who is an instructor when first starting. My last day at the school i bumped into Adam the president of American trucking, he congratulated me on completing the course on the way out. Very professional demeanor. If you read this review take it all into consideration as there are no refunds!!! I paid in full…i did see some guys making payments unlike me. If i joined another school like this ill be asking a short tour and take a closer look at the equipment and meet all instuctors before making the commitment. To all students considering this school Good luck! You can do it!
How a scam like this could operate legally. I have been training a kid who’s related to my family. He pay a bunch of money to learn absolutely nothing. He have no clue to drive a real truck. This is unbelievable. I have been driving trucks for over 35 years what this clowns says is a Old School who doesn’t know how the things are. Im promise you guys im going to do all i can to denounce this to the government entities to review your procedures and do something about this.
THIS SCHOOL IS A TOTAL SCAM. BUNCHO OF CLOWNS.
This is the cause why FMCSA is getting more and more restrictive with commercial drivers. Because you guys are sending people to the road with not even a clue on driving trucks.
