This review is based on that I am here 3 times a day. The morning, lunch, after school. This place is not that bad. So our Teacher was amzing! We lucked out!! Now some of the other teachers kinda have an attitude. The staff was really nice but again some have attitude.
The principal is not great at all. She is lazy and the only time I see her is very rare. Again I am at the school 3 times a day. So that says a lot!! Even on the last day of school I didn’t see her. Well I’ll tell you I truly believe Elisa Gordon should be principle!! She is super sweet and I see her all the time. The kids also like her!!! The other assistant principal guy is also a bit lazy. He has no answers or ideas for you. He is 100%unhelpful.
The lunch lady in the food line has a big attitude. She is not nice. The other lunch line staff never smile.
So many fun things that the kids get to do is NEVER that organized. They can do better. I paid to be part of booster and NEVER GOT ANY INFO. wasted money on that. We paid for so many pictures and shirts etc.
The kids eat breakfast in class so that is good. But only get 10 min. To eat. Morning time is but the backpacks and lunches up. Plus folders and grade cards. Plus kids are talking to each other. So they don’t get a full breakfast. More like a snack. They should get 30min. Some kids are very mean and some are nice. I have seen kids hit and kick some people do stop it other’s don’t say anything.
The playgrounds are old and broken!!

Overall: not to bad. But not that amazing.
We stayed for our Teacher!!! Truly a sweet woman!!

Both of my children have been attending AME since 2014. They have both excelled in their reading, math and love attending this school. The school has an IB accreditation which requires additional work of teachers, students and parents. So students are expected to work when they go to school and those that don’t have it reported on a daily behavior card. Teachers provide daily feedback to parents and parents are expected to engage. AME offers several free after school programs to encourage students to get out of their comfort zones and learn something new. It’s not a superficial school and Ms. Allen and her teachers really do care and want their students to do well.
