Surprised this school hasn’t gotten shut down. I have 3 kids in this school and this school is Very VERY unorganized from school assemblies, field trips, fundraisers, even dismissals not to mention my 3rd grader has had soooo many substitutes this year. Her teacher has high blood pressure and feels she can speak to these kids however she pleases. When I spoke to the vice principal expressing my concerns that my kid is falling behind bc her teacher is out half the time I felt nothing was done so along w the teacher being out she also yells and has cursed in front of them and when I told her she has no right to treat these kids that way nonetheless speak in such a manner she blamed it on her high blood pressure which isn’t an excuse.
Now as far as the assemblies/field trips and fundraisers it’s so sad almost no parents attend. Why might u ask? Bc we get almost NO notice that there’s an event in school. They want parents to be more involved but how so if we get a 2 day notice.
Dismissals ha what a joke!! My 1st grader almost always comes out after 3:30 bc a staff is never available to take the kids outside. Now I question if a staff is out or unable to escort these kids outside why is it that this isn’t planned earlier in the day just so us as parents are not waiting outside in the rain/snow? I had to personally walk into the school plenty of times to get my daughter and always happen to get stopped bc they don’t want parents in the building. Maybe that’s just so we don’t see how these kids get treated by some staff members. Even teachers speak in frustration bc they have no clue as to who’s supposed to take these kids outside.
I found out not so long ago that this school is a high priority school. I wish I would’ve done my research before transferring them here. Principal sucks and speaking to her is speaking to deaf ears all she’s told me was “I’m sorry you feel that way” this school is just as ghetto as she is. I’ve witnessed teachers screaming at these poor kids as if the have no sense. I’ve also seen 2-3 different teachers snatching up these kids grabbing them by the arm.
Now as for the UPK program there AWESOME!!! Never have I had a problem w pretty much anything they do but only bc the UPK is a separate program from the actual school. That alone says a lot!! My son speech therapist AWESOME!!! The ladies at the front desk, AWESOME!!! My other daughters 1st grade teacher is AWESOME AS WELL. Other than these 4 this school is a joke and most of the teaching is done here at home. Very upsetting.
If more parents was to express there concerns Ik for a fact they would shut this school right dwn bc even there test scores are low ??
A high priority school and low test scores WAY TO GO SCHOOL 39!!! ????
My experience at this school was bad because I got bullied a lot so u shouldn’t go to this school
It seems to be a good school for city schools
