Alright, I finished my 8th grade year this June and I’m back with more info. (This is Nagisa Uchiha again, just on a different account) If you thought 7th grade was tough, you’re in for a long ride. It was only the first few days of school, and I already had homework that was meant to be due in a week, but instead due the very next day. If you have Mr.Hunter, you won’t really get any homework, but does a lot of in class projects. The problem with that was none of the instructions were very clear, so most groups didn’t get full credit. However, Ms.Kean gives a lot of projects and they are always due at the same time. For example, at the last few months of school it was a complete wreck. English and History projects almost had the exact same due date, meaning almost 6 projects were due at the same time. For my elective I chose A.V.I.D, ironically this class was the real reason I had such a hard time with my other classes, even though Avid is supposed to guide you. Tutorials were plain boring and time consuming, and working in groups didn’t help anyone have a better understanding of there other classes. Our next subject is math, and it was plain out abusive. Every single day we had homework. During the state test we had homework. Over the breaks we had homework. It was a never ending fountain of homework. I remember all the students in Ms.Kean’s begging our math teacher to lay off on the homework for 2 weeks because of all the projects that were do. No mercy was given. Lunches are trash, very, very unhealthy. 500 calories for a slice of pizza. 497cal for a plain chicken sandwich. 450cal for a salad. Only apples for a fruit. $1 for some water. ( You still have to pay $1 even if you qualify for FREE lunch, and unfortunately I was a victim to this) Just terrible. Lastly, P.E. . They make you run the mile, even if it rains and stand out there when the bell rings, even though the locker rooms are open. P.E. uniforms are straight up a terrible system. The sweatshirts don’t have hoods, so when it rains or it’s too windy you can’t do anything about it. They don’t let you wear your own sweater either, and that was how I got sick over 10+ throughout the entire school year and had to stay home for 1 week straight many times. These uniforms are also quite pricey. (About $40 for 2 items) I was very sleep deprived due to the homework. (Only getting around 3-4 hours of sleep every day) I don’t want to seem edgy, but my depression got extremely worse that year. If you’ve actually read this far, please, I’m begging you don’t send your child here. It’s a horrible school. Even if their friends go here, make the right choice and send them elseswhere. I’m in my freshman year of High School now, and I can never look at school the same. I can’t enjoy the simple fun things in school thanks to Ochoa, and I can’t even open my mind to this new school. I’m not meaning to over exaggerate, but please just don’t ever send you children here. I sincerely hope you have a great day.

I really don’t like it. The staff are rude and will yell at you for absolutely nothing. I want to wear my red scarf but noo, you can’t wear anything red OR navy blue (kids still do it anyway but somehow the ‘quiet’ kids always get yelled at.) You can’t playfully push people or have any fun. Kids are rude and start fights over everything. Staff doesn’t even know how to handle situations like this. Lunch isn’t really that great. It’s VERY unhealthy with so much grease and you aren’t allowed to be in the hallway during lunch, even if your going to the library teachers will ask rudely where you are going. There are even passes inside the library that allow you to grab a few things from your locker, and teachers in the hall will STILL (even when looking at the pass) yell at you and tell you to hurry up. During P.E. they give you VERY little time to change back into your clothes. (least being 2min and highest being 10min and you even have to get “certain locks”) I understand kids aren’t on their numbers but don’t make the WHOLE class be late. This also goes for other classes at well. (making you be late even though it’s not you’re fault) And lastly, they give WAY to much homework. I was in 7th grade (now going to 8th) and if it was a “good day” (all subjects) I would work on it for around 3-4 hours! (I don’t know if that’s just me though) Leaving me to eat dinner and BARELY have enough time to do things I enjoy. On the “worst days” I worked on it for about 7 HOURS (not including if you were absent, because then I would stay up until 1:00am or even 2:00am) This is probably just me though. You would think they would go a little eaiser on you since some kids never dealt with this much stress before. Even on the weekends! ( I guess it’s sort of expected though…) Finally when I can do something non-stressful, BOOM homework! ( Not every weekend but some) Overall you can’t have much fun and I DO NOT recommend this school to pretty much anyone. ( Unless you have no hobbies or entertainment and love doing homework and being stressed)
