Nothing to do with the school but something I see everyday as someone who picks up the kids. Cars are speeding along the main stretch of straight road coming off Tidal onto Portage Road at 70kmh+ and vice versa. There is no speed limiting measures anywhere along the main stretch of road from Tidal Road, Aorere to Kedgeley Int.
Ms Ram is the best teacher, a
bright light in a dark corridor and the only reason I come to school everyday. If you have her as your teacher you are very lucky, trust me. She’s also choice aye Kia Ora. This review would be one star without her.
People say it’s a bad school and it has a lot of problems. Being an ex student here it actually does not have that many problems. It’s the students who decide to be successful or not, every other school is the same and will provide the same results depending on the student. Other than students there are some teachers who put in that extra effort to see you succeed and stay in contact with you even after school.
This is a great school for students who are self motivated and who fits into a traditional system of learning. Teachers will invest and provide support to students who prioritise their learning but I am not quite sure about those who are struggling. I started here in 2005 as a year 12 student and it felt like I had to prove myself as a learner to be taken seriously. Lots of opportunities to participate in extra curricular activities. Music department is solid!!
lol worst years of my life, the only good thing about the school is Mr. Booth. some other teachers too but i forgot their names. if you’re any slight bit of an alt/art kid then please beg your parents to not let you come to this school. i had to force myself to play sports just to fit in. i was there over 5 years ago so this might be different. but anyway transferring from a different highschool to this one was a mistake. i’m glad i left early. oh also i just remembered how bad the 2 year 12 chem and bio teachers i had were. forgot their names because they’re irrelevant. they were both female though. gjruhgtisehrtngtky
