All of my 3 children attended here and also attended their Jump-Start Math program they offer to 7th and 8th graders. They have an amazing program to help prepare students for college and for life in general. Their spiritual/retreat program helped my children grow tremendously closer to God. They promote a safe Christ-centered environment for students. This school are leaders and award-winners in the use of technology and drama and the arts as well such as being an Apple distinct school. They have the most amazing security and drug-prevention program I have ever heard of and seen. They always have drug dogs in the school and before field trips and have a 0 tolerance drugs and bully policy. The administration and teachers are always extremely responsive whenever I needed something or had a suggestion for improvement. Moreover, there is such excellent security on duty at all times and most are retired police officers and retired military. They also are continually ranked in the Catholic Honor Roll of the top 50 Catholic high schools in the nation. The guidance department has a special college-prep and SAT/ACT/PSAT program that helps guide students to the best opportunities for scholarships. They help set goals and motivate students to receive higher scores and achieve national merit and recognition. Both of my graduates received full tuition scholarships because of their guidance and support. Even my son who auditioned at Juilliard for piano performance was supported throughout his high school years to give him the best opportunity for success and was recently nominated for the Rhodes, Marshall and Churchill Scholarships. This wouldn’t have been possible without Principal Jean’s and the guidance/administration’s outside-of-the-box support and curriculum and activities offerings throughout his high school years. They bend to help meet the needs and what is best for success of the student. Moreover, two of my children have special needs and they always went out their way to help my children manage their diabetes. My daughter started their first Italian Club and they are very supportive of the students and their extra-curricular activities. I feel like we’re a family at AMHS and strongly recommend this high school and feel so blessed my children have had the opportunity to attend here. Their sports program has really impressed me as well!…Go Mavericks!!!
THE BEST school around. Tough Curriculum and very strict faculty/administration to teach proper discipline. Challenging academics, but teachers prepare them. They have various clubs, sports and campus ministry opportunities. Students get involved and have a great high school experience. Everyone including students, staff and parents are very welcoming to everybody. They have a great security presence and conduct many emergency drills. I recommend Archbishop McCarthy Catholic High School over any high school in the area.
My son has thrived in this school like no other. Had him at American Heritage for middle school and could not wait to transfer him out of there (too many reasons to list). The kids at Archbishop are nice to one another and the staff/teachers are very helpful and friendly. The parents are awesome and the best part of the school is the principal. He is tough but fair, keeps the school in order. I highly recommend this school over any other private school in the area.
