Covid has brought with it many questions when educating special needs children. There was no road map, just an uncertain future. I watched my daughter sit in front of a computer crying saying, I can’t do it. So I did the only thing I knew how. I prayed. My daughter could not read. My daughter could not add and subtract. My daughter could not do so many things. That makes a mom feel helpless and scared for the future. Heavenly Father answered my prayers and sent Ascent Advantage Academy. My daughter can read. My daughter can add and subtract. My daughter can now do so many things. William Arthur Ward said it best, The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. and at Ascent Advantage Academy they have inspired my daughter to be the best. Now her education keeps her smiling instead of crying.
I’ve worked with Ascent Advantage Academy for a few months and have seen the program in action. The daily routine prepares students to engage in their academic studies, scriptures, and to learn about truth. Students are learning in a safe and fun environment.
Mrs. Kessler is gifted in her ability to work with the children. She speaks in a language that the students understand and stretches them to be their best. She has created a marvelous curriculum that is progressive and fun.
Mr. Kessler thoroughly enjoys history and science. He puts a lot of thought and effort into making the projects engaging and hands-on experience for the students. His ability to be lighthearted, gets the kids laughing and more attentive to their learning.
I would recommend this school.
I’ve talked with the owners extensively and I’m highly impressed with their training and how they keep up to date on the best ways that children learn. It’s a very high quality education that expects more of their students than what you see elsewhere. The kids love it and the learning is kept at a pace that the kids do very well at. They do both distance and in person teaching and since they started doing distance learning prior to covid they have it down pretty well. we have searched a long time to find something that would work for my high functioning autistic child and this has been absolutely a dream come true.
