I have a Pre-K and Kindergarten currently enrolled at Ashland Elementary I’m assuming due to the new process of getting everyone enrolled and situated cause it to be unorganized and individuals not knowing whats expected. EVERYONE thought SOMEBODY was going to do it but NOBODY did. Turns out I had good teachers Ms. Smith and Ms. Hill but the school expect to much from the kindergartens in a new environment Just to know they have to enter the building go to lunch room eat in 20 mins like they in the military and (end up choking) Jump up run up steps to the gym (hope the bigger kids don’t run them over) to get to class room line. These little children that’s in a new environment do not know to hurry up and eat hurry up and go when they use to being waited on told to wait and food given to them. And all so why would you have the kindergarten sitting with the 1st-5th graders and they still babies in a new environment. Easy way for the child to be hurt, touched, mistreated, abused, bullied, fear of being lost or left in school anything this process with kindergartens needs to be re-evaluated. We as parents are putting our children in you all hands trusting the will be safe until we pick them up PLEASE re-evaluate this process
I remember Ashland as the most beautiful school, with a sunken kindergarden interior windows cork floors My father and his three brothers attended Ashland and went on to Beaumont HS only graduated. The row houses at 4200 Newstead are long gone too bad – I loved the brick alleys and small neat front yards where neighbors sat on the stoops during the summer talking. We had neighborhoods then – little money and go nowhere jobs I guess – but as a kid it was enough – no McMansions and lucky if we had a shower or tub or a TV
I went to this school in the 5th and 6th grade. They teachers stay on there phones all day. There are kids always rooming tje halls. The lunches be burnt and sometimes undone. The principal shows favoritism to certain kids. My little sister goes to this school now and she is being bullied and the principal refuses to expell or suspended the student that is doing the bullying
