I enrolled my son in this school with high hopes, believing it would be an inclusive and supportive environment for him, especially since he has a disability. Unfortunately, our experience has been far from positive. After disclosing my son’s disability to the school, one of the owners Mrs. Scheff began targeting him unfairly. It quickly became apparent that the teachers were being instructed to focus incident reports specifically on my son. These reports were often exaggerated or entirely false, painting a misleading picture of his behavior and experiences.

This singling out not only affected my son’s self-esteem but also created a hostile environment for him. It was disheartening to see a place that should be nurturing and supportive turn into a source of stress and anxiety for my child. Despite this, I want to emphasize that the staff members, in general, were very kind and professional. They seemed genuinely concerned for the students’ well-being, but it was clear that they were operating under directives they couldn’t control.

However, the positive aspects of the staff’s demeanor do not outweigh the negative impact of the owner’s actions. It is deeply troubling that a school would allow such discriminatory practices to occur, especially at the directive of an owner. Until there is a significant change in leadership or ownership, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this school to other parents, especially those with children who have special needs.

For a school to truly be inclusive and supportive, it needs to embrace all students and provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Unfortunately, this is not the case here as long as Mrs. Scheff remains involved. I hope that the necessary changes are made so that no other child has to go through what my son experienced.

Atala Montessori has been the best choice of schools! My son started when he was 3 and he is now 10. He absolutely loves it! It fosters independence,creativity and lifelong love for learning. I’ve enthusiastically recommended Atala Montessori to my family members and I’m thrilled to say that they share my sentiments and have also been thoroughly impressed by the school’s commitment to excellence and the positive outcomes it delivers to our kids.
So if your looking for security and care for your child, I definitely recommend Atala Montessori School.
