Unfortunately, this school is a long way from being considered high quality however a reasonable person would define “high quality”. My oldest child is in his third year attending this school and my youngest child is now in her first year. While he enjoys the friends he has made there and his teachers, there have been a bevy of issues since Day One. Mind you, this school is not new. It used to be located in Minneapolis but for the 2014-15 school year, it moved to Brooklyn Park under a different name. With the non-stop issues that seem to plague this school, it would surprise me greatly if Athlos improves sufficiently to be even an average school (whether it concerns academics, busing or simply feeling safe and well-provided for as it concerns the students). I do hope the school finds its way. I am not greatly optimistic.

The most confusing aspect for me personally is the nonsensical grading system employed by Athlos. This school does not have a strong academic reputation. But it is not aided by a confusing grading system that does not effectively communicate to the student or his/her parent(s) how well/poorly the student is performing. Ultimately the proof is in the standardized testing. From my research, the students at Athlos (including its predecessor) as a collective do not have a strong history of performing even marginally. I am hoping that this aspect will change and if there is meaningful improvement, the long-term prospects of my children continuing at this school may brighten.

Unfortunately, I believe we have reached a point where beyond the 2016-17 school year, we will not have our children continue attending this school. There are too many negatives to overcome the positives such as some of the quality teachers in the younger grades. Administration lacks the ability apparently to provide a meaningful standard of academic improvement student-over-student.

I hate leaving bad reviews but in this case I feel it’s necessary. DO NOT order uniforms from them!!!
I placed an order for uniforms for my grandkids in august of 2021.
Unfortunately due to busing issues my grandkids could not attend Althos Academy in St Cloud. I immediately contacted the uniform department to return the items I ordered. I left several emails and many phone messages since then. On the website it did say that they were not accepting returns due to Covid. I was very kind in my messages and just ask that my calls and e-mails be acknowledged. I only wanted to know when returns would be accepted.
I have never received a call back or a response from my emails. So unprofessional and plain disrespectful!!
My 3 daughters goes here currently I have been trying to reach out to the principal for over a week now, leaving voicemails, physically going up to the school no response whatsoever! My daughter is in first grade and her assistant teacher is Mrs Tiffany Benard, she has been forcing my child to hug her. She has called my child out of her name. Calling her a minion and has made my daughter come home crying. One incident, were Mrs, Benard called her stupid in the classroom. Which shouldn’t be tolerated or allowed! I have addressed my concerns with the school and no one is listening! I will not be sending my children back here!!!!!!!
