Our family is new to Avail this year and it has been such a blessing to be part of a community that is so incredibly intentional in all that they do–from the classroom learning to the field experiences outside of the classroom. The teachers, staff, families, and students are deeply immersed in the Teaching For Transformation model, which for my own children has impacted not only their academic growth but also their hearts and their walk with the Lord. Because this is implemented throughout all their work, that learning is locked in. I drop off my girls at school every day and know they are in good hands with teachers who truly care, love, and support their learning and growth. The communication between teachers/staff and families is great, and as a parent knowing what is happening in the classroom and being connected in this way is a priority and I appreciate that so much about Avail.There is SO much more that could be said but in summary Avail is an answer to our prayers. God is at work mightily here and being glorified and it is for all these reasons that Avail has far exceeded our expectations!!!
If you are looking for top notch academics plus deep-rooted spiritual development for your children, Calvin can’t be beat. Rather than “book learning” with a bit of Bible class tacked on, every aspect of education at this school is aimed at developing deep thinkers, both academically and spiritually. It’s not a protective bubble, but rather a place that teaches your children how to actively engage in the culture around them both intellectually and spiritually. “So you’re a Christian… so what? Now go out and DO something about it. And while you’re doing it, do it well.”
We transferred to Avail after 2020 when Covid begin, we choose Avail due to what + how they teach, through gifts. Each child is uniquely made by God + the staff meet our son where he is at academically, which is important to us. Our son has flourished, met some great friends + is being challenged daily!! My favorite are the days he comes home + teaches me something new about the bible. Thank you SO much to the staff at Avail, we will forever be grateful! Adam + Kara
