students are not allowed to speak their own languages except for 1 hour free time (which is very little) or else you will be given detentions and warnings. Sometimes even some small details for example tie is not obvious enough to see staffs would give you detention rudely. As a previous student we value free time very much as the 1 hour free time is the only moment we can do our own stuffs and staffs just take it away because of some minor, unimportant mistakes
Even though it’s an English learning school, the student still speak alot of Mandrin at school if teacher isn’t there. Also, the students are not that friendly.
I’ve been successfully graduated from Avalon College fat the end of 2013 and it was one of my best and precious experience that I had. Differently from other language school, Avalon College not only improved my English skills, more importantly it let me know a Australian culture. Like others, I couldn’t understand why I need to run hundreds of miles, and why the staffs keep saying ‘manners!’ BUT after I went to my high school which is fully locals, I realized there was no trouble for me to join them.Various activities that Avalon offers will not be offered in other language school. Every staffs not only taught me the knowledge but more like a social skills.

Of course it is a bit annoying that I couldn’t speak my native language, oppositely my English skill promoted soooo fast! It is the whole point for a language school!

For living part, IT IS ENOUGH SHOWER IN 5MINS!! Melbourne has water-deficient, so please understand it. And it is very common! I didn’t have problem with that! I did a lot detentions as well but normally the detentions are houseworks, we Just helpers.

I received real friends here, learnt knowledge and culture here, and had a wonderful, unforgettable experience here.

Actrilly this school is not so bad, but just too strict for students, if you are first here, you will fill very lonely. But actually, if you stay here for few days everything will be OK, you will make many friends from everywhere, and you will become focus on your study. It is a good place for you to increase your English skills.
Bullying is a serious matter . School should put an eye on it
