First off, I think supporting students is so important. I’m a student and I know that the best way to learn is to have real world/life practice. However I left my appointment today extremely disappointed. I came in looking for a little trim because I am growing my hair out. I specifically requested an “A-list” student because I know the thickness of my hair can be a challenge. Because all I needed was a little trim, I thought it could be a good learning opportunity for the student to handle thicker hair. The cost is also slightly increased for an A-list student who is close to graduation. Pretty soon into the appointment, I started to have a bad feeling. I mentioned to the student multiple times I thought they were cutting it too short on one side however they said it was fine and they were going to even it all out. Finally I said maybe we should talk to their instructor. By the time the instructor came over, the damage was done. I will say, the instructor was incredibly kind and helpful. She did the best she could to fix my hair and I appreciated her stepping in. However I walked away from the haircut with my hair about 7-8 inches shorter than I started with, and one large chunk in the front, a good inch shorter than the rest. I wish that there had been slightly more observation or that anyone had stepped in at the beginning before it got to the point of no return. Again, I audibly voiced my concerns multiple times. I also expected slightly more expertise from an “a-list” student. This student did not know how to use a curler or have the right tools to handle my hair. I hesitated to write this review because again, I think supporting students is so important. But I also think constructive feedback is important to a teaching program and I hope that my experience is a learning opportunity for the program as a whole. I had hoped to write this review to the institute directly but there is nowhere on the website to leave a review or contact them via email.
My granddaughter asked for a cut and blonde highlight around face. $150 The highlight was horrid and the cut was worse. Supervised by trainer? Cost us $200 to get it fixed elsewhere. When we went to discuss our dissatisfaction… It was met with “tough” Anna is a student. You get what you get here. I understand she is student but the instructor should have stepped up. Beware!
