I graduated in 1946. I loved this school so much, that’s why I was out looking for pictures of the old school. The teachers were wonderful. Mr. Robinson was my math teacher, then there was Mrs’. Bellis, Klett, Howard, and Oliver. I went to Connecticut in the summer to work in the tobacco sheds as a school group during WWII. We visited NYC and saw stage play Carosel and the Rockets at Radio City Music Hall.
We had a wonderful graduation dance at the hotel on Bayshore Blvd. I only lasted about 10 days at Plant High. But I now have a BS in History/ Public Service.
No we didn’t have A/C neither did anyone else 🙂

We absolutely love this school. The staff knows all the kids by name and their families. They were on the ball when we were going through some behavioral issues with our son. They were AMAZING throughout all of the testing that we needed to get done. Once ww recieved our diagnosis they immediately got the ball rolling to help our son get the services he needed to help him be successful in school. Hands down such a wonderful school!! We love our BPE family!!
I am going on my fourth year participation with this school, and the staff are excellent! The school is a charming 90 year old historic Tampa building. The community and families are very supportive, active, and engaged. The HOST and READ after school programs also provide safe and nurturing environments. It is a great little elementary school!
