Every district and school has it’s perks and disadvantages. Bartlett City Schools is a place where us students are provided a good quality education, fair treatment, and are in contact with many wonderful staff members and teachers. Bartlett does their very best to insure we have a safe place to go everyday, and that we have the resources to do so. No, we did not got to school with ice on the roads or in any harsh weather conditions. We received a little snow which was voted safe for transportation of all kinds before we arrived at school. The district does their best to accommodate to everyone, but sometimes there are rules and guidelines set in place for a reason that staff members can do nothing to change, such as residency. The guidelines and requirements are there for them to enforce, not negotiate. If there were steps a staff member could take to help a child get acceptance into Bartlett, many to all would do so. Every action must taken as it s presented, however, everyone has different experiences. Over all, Bartlett City Schools is a great school district for children K-12.
Just read through the other reviews. Wow. First let me assure you that religious doctrines are not part of the curriculum. My mother is a science teacher for Bartlett and she’s currently doing her lesson plans for evolution. There was another about discrimination. You have to prove you live in the school zone. It’s not discriminating based on anything else. Bartlett is a highly regarded school district and a very nice town. The only way to keep it that way is to ensure that no one is trying to cheat the system. I’ve been to the schools multiple times to check them for my own children. The teachers are given very flexible guidelines so that they can actually teach and not just have kids stare at an outdated book. Many of the schools don’t use any textbooks and instead use Apple products to ensure that the children aren’t learning outdated facts. Very good school system, great teachers, can’t wait until I close on my house so I can get my kids out of Tipton county.
I recently moved to Bartlett this month. Student services will not let my daughter register in school because of a “lease”. He couldn’t even show me a document stating I’d have to be on the lease. What’s the point of a shared residency form if I have to be on a lease agreement? If I was homeless then what? Who came up with these ridiculous policies. I acquired all documentation Ms. Henderson required me to have and still nothing. My daughter has missed over 2 weeks of school and counting. She is a straight “A” student, well behaved and very intelligent who deserves an education. The state representative and channel 5 news have been contacted!!! Will be looking into a lawsuit for discrimination as well. No child should be left behind!!!!
