The church is great but I don’t recommend the school. My daughter has had her hair pulled and a boy punched her in the back of the head while innocently taking a drink from the water fountain. when I spoke to her teacher about it she told me that was “ridiculous” and almost had me convinced my daughter was lying about being bullied. Fortunately, the little girl who pulled my daughters hair approaches my daughter and says “I’m sorry for pulling your hair” my Jaw dropped. I went back to the teacher and tell her what just happened and she says “ooooh yeah (students name) she’s got problems” so that gives her the right to put her hands on other children? No. First red flag. So that was about three months ago and since then she’s been complaining that she missed her old school and wants to go back. Now I get a phone call from the principal. He wanted to schedule a meeting with both parents because my daughter was banging her head on the table and trying to cut herself with scissors. When I went to the meeting, it was the principal, dean, teacher, and lady taking notes. I told them I wasn’t defending my daughters behavior but she has been complaining about her classmates and she hasn’t been wanting to come to school. I told them about the bullying and they said. “This meeting isn’t about your daughter being bullied it’s about why your daughter is self inflicting pain on herself. ” I said “so my daughter being bullied has nothing to do with her banging her head on the desk? There’s no way that could be a reason? ” the principal says “ma’m do you even know what bullying is?” I said are you really testing my intelligence right now? You’re asking me for a textbook answer on what a bully is?” I’m sure a bully is when my daughter is innocently talking a drink out of a water fountain and gets punched in the back of the head. The principal says I was never aware of this situation. I looked at her teacher and said “why was he not aware about this? ” she shrugged her shoulders and the Dean speaks up. “Some things are for the teacher to Handel, others are for the principal.” So what he told me was the teacher won’t go to the principal when my child is getting punched in the face yet when my daughter can’t take it anymore and she’s banging her head on the desk and cutting herself, then the principal should be notified. I said “where was the schools concern when my daughter was getting punched in the head? Where was the parent teacher conference with those parents? My daughter did the right thing for doing what she was told by going to an adult for help and they called her a liar. They wouldn’t even listen to me about the situation. The Dean butted in again and tried to say “ma’m we probably did do something about that and I’m sure we did have a meeting with the other students parents, but we’re not at liberty to talk about it. We are trying to figure out why your daughter is behaving this way and how she can trust us and come to us when she needs help.” This guy is lying straight to my face saying how he’s sure they had a parent teacher conference with these other parents when the principal is telling me he was never made aware yet somehow he wants to gain my daughters trust. These teachers do not represent the church. I think most of the teachers come from Holly Hill school, the one I took her out of to be in a safe religious environment, to learn self respect, learn about Jesus, and grow up with morals. Ya she learned to pray the rosary, but what good is that when you have to use it to pray she doesn’t get bullied at school? These teachers have no idea what they’re doing. They need to treat bullying seriously and not wait until the child commits suicide before someone seems to care. Big problem there.
I drove all the way here today from Port Richey FL a 3 hour drive to take my daughter on a field trip for school. I was extremely disappointed ia find out the online hours were wrong! And they were closed! Extremely disappointed
