Disappointed in this business. We spent close to $800 for 2.5 months of swim lessons for two kids, ages 6 and 2 at the time. Not only did they learn nothing (if they jumped into a pool today they’d for sure sink), but my daughter contracted a fairy serious skin infection that lasted for almost 5 months before her doctors could get it under control. Her Dr. as well as Google suggested that children get this specific skin infection from community pools… BCS Swim was the only community pool she has ever been in. Due to this she could not finish her lessons. She had 2 lessons left and I requested a refund for those two lessons ($50) numerous times via email and the staff at BCS Swim just kept replying saying they don’t offer refunds and that she could defer her last two lessons…as if we’d want to put her through 5 months of treatment only to put her back into the pool that caused the problem in the first place. I still have all the email communication saved.
Also as a side note, this business seemed to me to be very dirty with a strange smell at all times and lots of clutter and dust in the rafters above the pool. Just steer clear of this business. There are more professional options.
We chose this swim school because they are focused on water safety first. Their team is consistent in their friendly natures, tactful in getting children to be safe, and to have fun. I appreciate that our child is practicing the main survival floating behaviors each time he visits to try to get these behaviors to become instinctual. I can sit and watch as the children grow and learn new swim techniques over time and have made many friends with other parents. We have high hopes for our child but are not looking for him to try out in the swimming junior Olympics with perfect form within two weeks. We want to have more confidence if he tumbles into a lake or a pool that he can make it to land. True water survival skills are not taught by all swim schools and you can find well trained instructors here at BCS. Also, wanted to give a shout out to lifeguard Dylan, instructor Kenna, and instructor Kendall. These three have impressed me in how they handle difficult situations, correct negative behaviors, coaching and guiding children to be their best in swim practice, focusing and listening, and get the children back to having fun and learning.
