This is my fourth year at Beacon. I absolutely love it here. Beacon is a online-charter school. You go to the Beacon office to meet up for clubs, go to tutoring, and meet ups. I have never met a school in my life that is so dedicated to have their students succeed.

From going to public school all my life, I was so used to having rude teachers, not learning anything, wasting my time on subjects that I didn’t that much help in, and not getting enough attention on the subjects that I DO need help in, resulting in poor grades.

I go to Beacon at least once a week for tutoring and to keep on track. The staff always greets you with a smile, the tutors will pull up what you need to work on, and as long as you are working hard, they will work hard with you to make sure you not only understand the material, but to make sure you are getting good grades.

Last semester, was the first time I have ever gotten an A in math…Algebra 2 to be exact. I couldn’t have done it without Ms. Fort who runs Math Club and is the Geometry teacher at the school. I literally bawled when I got my final grade because I was convinced that I was never smart enough to get a decent grade in math. Mrs. Waters and Ms. Dixon are the most sincere, caring principal and assistant principal I have ever met and worked with.

Mr. B and Ms. MJ work in the main tutoring room. They have never spoken anything unkind to anyone. They are always so kind and joyous to be working with the students. So many tutors and teachers in public school barely help you at all to get your work done, that isn’t the case at this school. As long as you work hard and meet them have way, they will do everything they can to help you- and then some.

I do not exaggerate when I say this is the best school in Nevada. The program makes it easy to keep up with your school work. The staff makes you love the school even more. It is always a safe, kind, fun environment to go to school.

I just wish I’d found this school earlier than my second child’s 12th grade year. All schools should be this good. My child is self-managing so it worked really well. She went from A, Bs and a C, to straight A’s first week. This is the future of schooling, in my opinion. Loved it. We tried K12 in the past for my son and those teachers are just earning extra income and didn’t care. In this school, they care. And they offered all kinds of tutoring back up if she needed it.
I just got a phone call from this place saying that spring break was over and classes are starting. I wonder why, I’m 49 years old and I don’t have any kids and I never went to school in Nevada. I tried calling back so I can be removed from their list and I got their voicemail that just hangs up on you. If I find a way to remove myself off their list I’ll give it a higher rating but as of now I’m just getting annoyed by the phone call.
