a terrible school. from the beginning, the curriculum is very behind, pretty much year 8 being year 7 level teaching. the students do not treat the school well, with it being constantly vandalised, piss and poo on the floor, etc. the school has such uncaring students, being racist, swearing, constant bullying and screaming out such inappropriate words, etc. the school fees are hideously overpriced, with them being around 20k/yr. the school has zero security, with once a crazy person just walking in, and no one did anything, including multiple ferrel animals breaking in, such as possums, kangaroos, etc. as a student at this school, i’d highly recommend you not to go here, it’s better off sending your kids to a different school, even public school.
This school is insane. The teachers are so unbearably strict and can be racist at times, while this school has a horrible curriculum, they care more about the uniform than the learning. The teachers teach yr7s-yr8s the exact same thing. Their bathroom situations are also horrendous as there is vandal and broken toilets, the students also treat them horrible by pissing on the floor and flooding the sinks. This school is a complete cash grab with horrible teachers, you will be better off sending them to Berwick public schools. I suggest not sending anyone here.
Awesome place to work as a teaching chaplain, such a positive and agile culture. Independent and faithful to its Christian roots while welcoming staff and students from all faiths and none. Been here 6 years and loving it!
Pathetic excuse of a ‘private school’. You may as well send your kid to Haileybury. Teachers are one of the most condescending people on the face of the earth, their curriculum is nothing but absolute rubbish, with the axiomatic fact that they teach the exact same thing from Year 7 and 8, ultimately jeopardising any chance the adolescent has of doing well in VCE. Their students are on of the most rudest and they care about uniform more than actual learning. If you are going to spend such money on a terrible school, send your kid to public school and try out for a Select Entry High School. Reports from my son in Year 7 depict the grade average for English being a mere 66. Senior students’ behaviour is absolutely appalling, setting a bad precedent for the younger students. Despise being private and ranking only in the top 200 schools in the state and 99% of seniors complete their Victorian Certificate of Education satisfactory as well as averaging a poor study score. I would highly recommend to look at other schools in your area, or have your kid try out for a select entry high school. If you want your kid to excel, please reconsider before falling into this death trap and pathetic excuse of a private school Teachers are supposed make the adolescent think, wonder and question. Teachers play an imperative role in shaping the future of our adolescents, on the contrary the teachers at Beaconhills are nothing but pedagogues, ruling on absolute power. The true irony is the school had dubbed itself as a holistic institution whereas their VCE scores depict the exact opposite. Facilities are congruent to one of a public school where all the kids vandalise the ample facilities and the classrooms are no better. In sophisticated schools, teachers and students don’t view themselves as less or more, but human. Teachers here racist, parochial where one teacher had made a comment describing Islam as a religion where we live under a fearful god and Christianity is a superior religion. These subtle remarks can set up the student in a philistine manner. Teachers are more concerned with uniform than academics and their curriculum is equivalent to a regular primary school. In addition, teachers are the most condescending people on the face of the earth. If anyone dares to question why a teacher had made a decision or even question why such disciplinary action has been taken against, the teachers will go on a bigoted spiel essentially commenting how the student lacks respect as if they were some deity who rules all. The racism in this school is unparalleled where white kids are favoured more, building a hierarchy. In bigoted private schools, the kids believe they have earned a right to call others derogatory remarks. Teachers play palpable favourites where only one student would be told off for uniform. The entire concept of uniform is to be able to not distinguish each other based on clothing. Although some teachers are concerned with empowering minds, teachers, predominantly in the music department will do anything to ensure children get in trouble for uniform. Their priorities concern the LOTE (language other than English) where only imperative subjects such as Science and Humanities only occur twice a week. If you are considering applying to this school please rethink before you blow your money on a school that just becomes a centre where students just stay incarcerated until parents pick them up. You are better off sending your kids to public schools than bigoted private schools such as Beaconhills. Dubbing itself as a holistic institution whilst their 2023 median study score was 29 is truly pathetic..
It is a great place, very nice however you tend to learn things again and again throughout the years of middle school.
