Beech Elementary School, Wichita | Fees, Rankings, Address, Admission, Vacancies, Reviews & More

This school is absolutely terrible. Avoid taking your children here at all costs use a friend’s or relative’s address or put them into a magnet school seriously stay far far away. When I went to enroll my child 2 parents were altercating in the parking lot and it eventually turned into what looked like an MMA fight. At first I wasn’t sure if these people were arguing with each other or it was a family reunion until it all ended in a crescendo of blood and fallen weave everywhere. It was so off putting I immediately began to regret enrolling my child there, but still I remained hopefully in that not all of the parents or even the school staff would behave in such a way. Boy boy boy can I be naive not only is this school extremely ghetto the staff are unprofessional, rude, and extremely disorganized. By the second day of school they had lost my child. Yes you read that correctly. I went to pick up my and they told me, “oh he took off that way with another child” then stared at me blankly. Are you freaking kidding me you let my child leave without an adult present? I didn’t care very much for my son’s school last year but at least I never had to worry about someone taking my child or them opening the doors to the school and saying ok kids all of you run out now be free and go wherever your heart desires. Wth seriously?! My son’s old school was very organized when it came to picking up your child every class had a sign in the area where you would stand to meet the teacher and the teacher would not release the child until they made eye contact with an actual adult who was approved to pick up your child. If love ghetto, hoodish, and unorganized this school is perfect for you!! Enroll at your own risk you have been forewarned!!

I used to love this school, but this year that changed. Lets start with the front desk receptionist, Sheila. Sheila is very unapproachable, rude and will look at you like you’re a total idiot and not a parent who actually has a valid reason to be there. I still do not understand how she is working as a school receptionist. Katherine on the other hand is a very sweet lady and always smiling, who got to know who you were and actually seemed like she enjoyed her position. Sheila needs a different position and the front desk receptionist is not for her at all! Sheila needs to work on her people skills and also how she speaks to the children. I’ve seen and heard her speak to the kids there like their not young learning adolescents. I have heard this from several other parents as well, so hopefully Sheila reads this as well as the Beech principle. Thankfully, none of my kids will be attending anymore. 🙂 All of the teachers my kids have had while they did attend were very nice and sweet to my kids. Especially Mrs. MaKenna.
