Would not recommend at all. Corridors are pretty narrow. The teaching is basically reading off a textbook. Couldn’t even provide online lessons until the last minute during Covid-19. Also, the logic behind making a long queue of students wait outside the entrance and only letting 4 people in a time goes beyond me. Perhaps waiting in the cold was part of their punishment for coming 3 minutes late. They end up wasting more of lesson time. So-called “talent show” has left me traumatized, unless you like to see students twerk. 6th Form “common room” is constantly crowded as for the “Belle Cafe”, meaning you can’t study in peace or eat comfortably. Lack of student recognition and extracurricular activity is another issue. School also has a tendency to “gang” on individuals as if to intimidate. This is based off personal experience, make whatever you want of it. I have to say it is improving, though at an incredibly slow rate. School’s results speaks for itself. Standards of an ideal student are questionable/ambiguous or they’re not being enforced effectively.
It’s a lovely school with nice teachers and brilliant education but hardly students follow what there teacher are saying. They shout answers out and hardly have respect for teachers and most don’t even care for their future and there is a rule of no make-up, however there are tones of girls wearing it and teachers turn a blind eye to it. Is the rule no longer valid?
My daughter became badly influenced by the behaviour at this school especially in the music department. Teachers didnt tach them respect or manners. I recommend that you dont send your daughter to this school.
Appalling behaviour from one of the staff at this school. They do not know how to talk to parents. Think they are high and mighty and the parents are below them. Absolutely Disgusting! due to circumstances i cannot pull my sister out of this school!
Absolutely amazing school. Great atmosphere and was definitely the right place to send my daughter. All the staff have been so understanding and helpful from the admin team to the SLT. Keep it up BVGA
