Very good. A wonderful range of sports and opportunities. Students are mostly well behaved. Very good at quickly catching onto any misbehaviour. Sympathetic when required but harsh if need be. Pride themselves in A’s at GCSE level which is what we achieve.
The school is certainly not perfect, but overall, things such as the standard of teaching and pastoral care are excellent. While pupils may not be offered the largest range of subject opportunities at GCSE level, the subjects do suit the majority of students. Personally, I would deem the nearly 5 years that I have been at Bishop’s as the best years of my life so far, as the community within the school, pupil support and infrastructure are well-suited to almost all of the students.

Up the bells

Bishop’s enjoys a hard earned reputation as one of the finest schools in the country. The school is well known for its traditions of excellence, its strong links with the Church of England and the Cathedral, and its sense of pride in the school community. The school has Language College Status, and a second specialism in Science, both of which have further enhanced both facilities and quality of provision, and BWS also became an Academy School in March 2011. There is also extensive curricular collaboration at post-16 level with South Wilts Grammar School for Girls.

Boys take an 11+ selection test for admission to Bishop’s. Academic standards are very high and are duly recognized as such by OfSTED, DfE and the media, but excellence permeates all other areas of school life. School Sport is exceptionally strong, and the traditions in Music and Performing Arts are impressive. The school is characterised by a culture of challenging boys to do their best while, at the same time, offering them the support that they need to do really well. Older boys are asked to take leadership responsibilities and operate as role models and mentors for those in lower years. We place great importance on delivering an all round education for all of our boys.

Bishop’s enjoys an incomparable environment in the shadow of the highest cathedral spire in England, and many major school events take place in the Cathedral during the school year. Facilities for learning and teaching are already excellent, and further development of the school site continues.

Not the best of schools, I mean education is not as good as they say it is, teachers are mediocre and the school day is far longer than it should be. Total disappointment and annoying for students.
All round good school. However, the removal of yard football is disgusting due to the cultural significance it holds.
