I’ve attended this school for three years. Throughout that time, i have scarcely seen improvement. The teachers are splendid, however the student body is terrible. They are rude, self-serving kids who are too full of themselves to ever even listen to a teacher. The principal doesn’t help the school image either. At times I actually believe he encourages the current behavior that’s so dominant at Blanche Ely. Along with that is the lack of discipline. Every year he does something like confiscate hats or headphones. That does nothing but rile up the students more. Sure hats and headphones will be seen a lot less, but the behavior of the student body spikes once again. If more suspensions were given and more penalties were put on students who break the rules, I feel things would be different.
Besides behavior there is just blatant disrespect for teachers. Students walk right out of class, speak when instructed not to, give instructors “the bird”, and often just copy assignments given without a care in the world.
This school needs work. I may have spent three years here, but I’m fed up. I’ll spend my senior year in another school, or in independent study.
a HORRIBLE school. I have to agree though the teachers are of the best but the children need to sharpen up. Maybe add a uniform being as though kids don’t understand how to dress properly. Also, the way the students treat teachers and subs are horrible. In what mind is it okay to yell at the top of your lungs that this isn’t your teacher and they can’t tell you what to do.. let alone walk out of class. It lives up to it’s reputation highly. They should really add more buses to. Only two stops per bus but they’re always packed to the brim and refuse to allow others a seat because they’re .. and I quote ” To black for this.” I transferred not even two months into that school..
