I was here for 3 years and they were the worst years of my academic life. You have two options: conform completely or be an outcast. Students get punished for the most ridiculous things and many of the middle school teachers are really just mean-spirited (how Christian!). There’s no transportation to and from the school and it’s pretty much a waste of money to pay tuition for the nonsense students and parents will have to put up with. Just send your kid to St. Andrew’s Math and Science or Mason Prep or Palmetto Scholars Academy or something and let them do outside Catholic education.
Have 2 kids attending BSCS. It’s great and they love it. Small size is a plus; Feel like I get to really know the teachers and they are always available via phone / email. I’ve gotten to know the other parents and have made some great friends. I’m impressed with the academics as well and feel the religious and Catholic education and values they learn there is invaluable ; If the latter is not important to you than of course send your children elsewhere.
My daughter currently attends Blessed Sacrament School. She just loves it! While she is getting a solid academic foundation she also has the opportunity to participate in a variety of community service projects, music classes, sports, and religious activities. The after care program is hard to beat. It is very well run and a trusted asset for any working parent. We are very pleased with the school and will continue our daughter there.
