This is a beautiful, practical schoolhouse with a great group of children and teachers. My son has attended BRM school for almost a year now – both during the school year and summer camps – and he really enjoys it.

When he started last year, he was just starting potty training and the teachers were great about helping him (and me) as we worked through that period. Over the past year, his verbal communication, mathematical skills, alphabet identification, and emotional development have all blossomed. It truly is impressive – especially when he will come home enthusiastically talking about the “mystery math” game or other developmental games at the school.

There has been some turnover in assistant teachers over the past year, which has been a little bit of a struggle for us for a variety of reasons, but the current assistant teacher there is wonderful. Very peaceful and loving. My son has come home a couple of days saying he had a “great day” because she is there. Gayle, the owner and head teacher, is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate about the school and the children. We are very grateful for her imprint in our lives.

One of the things I love the most about the school is that the children get to spend a lot of time outdoors and that it nurtures my son’s love of nature. The outdoor space in the back is unlike many other daycares and preschools in Asheville.

Both of my children have been with Miss Gail and her professional staff for the past two (2) years with my youngest about to spend a 3rd year at Blue Ridge Montessori. I cannot speak highly enough about the level of care and pre-school education my children have received. They have really thrived in this program. Additionally, Miss Gail provides a very nurturing experience for children. In our case, this has proven to extremely valuable. Highly recommend!!
Search this school in the Asheville Mamas fb group and you’ll find lots of negative reviews over many years, so telling. It takes some really bad experiences to have local Moms talking publicly sadly is the case for this school:(
