I’m writing this review as a student who just finished and have experienced 3 years of Bob Miller.
One of the major things that I would like to point out, is that the arts program is exceptional and is fun (But that’s just my opinion,). [Note: All arts programs have won awards annually and gold, except for a few occasions] The learning here is great, although like many other schools, you’ll have at least one or two people that do disturb the learning experience. Another thing is, the teachers do differ, from kind to strict, (however that depends on whether or not they got pissed off by the earlier periods, sometimes) Not every student is rude or manner less, as some of these reviews say, there are some fellows that aren’t selfish and actually care for others. Now, when it comes to the deans and the school rules, they’re quite “esoteric”. The deans will know and remember your name if you ever went through the office for something bad or as a witness. The prefects there, though some people say that they’re mean people, that’s not true, especially when you don’t start trouble and actually get to know them. Also the rules, some of them show a sign of paranoia, like not being able to high five because you might be “exchanging drugs” or having a backpack is not allowed for various reasons. Some of these rules do suppress some student’s freedom of expression, like not being allowed to have bandannas or some accessories as that’s “gang affiliation” or sharpies being a taboo to prevent vandalism. However, these were implemented because some fools have actually done something to cause this, ruining it for others.

Summary of this long review: Great education and arts program, varied personalities of teachers, there are some good people among the questionable mass, deans and rules are “ok”.

This is my last year at Bob Miller and it is with heavy heart. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! I’m so sad that I won’t be able to see the amazing teachers and staff. This school is marked the best school in Nevada by Fox 5 news and more. We have also been receiving cool grants, too, thanks to our tech guy, Mr. Lawson. The programs, clubs, electives, etc., are AMAZING! I am in band and if given the option, go to band (trust me). Mr. Williams is the best teacher ever. I play tuba and thanks to him, I found something I am passionate about and want to do for the rest of my life. The school is the best school there is. I personally LOVE these teachers and the staff; they are kind and listen to you. There is nothing bad about this school, except for the strict rules on Sharpies and bandanas. Please take this review into consideration. All the parents who are posting reviews don’t understand how wonderful the teaching at this school is. I love this school more than anything, besides music, and that’s coming from a teenage girl. All the people there work their hardest for you to learn. The only person who is even remotely mean is one of the campus monitors, but no need to worry. If you avoid her, you’ll be fine.
Basically, this school – there’s no other way to put, is the best thing that happened to me. If I went to Del Webb or Greenspun or some other middle school, I think I would hate education, but instead I love it. This school is THE BEST THERE IS. This school deserves unlimited stars from me, but too bad there’s limit. 🙁 The music department is awesome as well. The Symphonic Band 🙂 Chamber/Concert Orchestra and Advanced Choir received amazing scores in the festivals at UNLV and in California. The jazz band’s cool , too, so join! GO BOBCATS! I WILL MISS THIS SCHOOL SOOO MUCH!!!!!
I have went to this school for almost 3 years, I am in the 8th grade and I am pretty well spoken when I say that I would not personally put my child in this school. The students here are horrible. They are constantly judging, extremely fake, and want all the attention on them. Most of them are snobby rich kids who will do anything to become “popular”. They are smoking weed in the bathrooms, drinking alcohol at lunch, and bragging about doing the dirty. The staff is a 50/50 I do not like either of the deans (Ms.Espinoza and Ms. Bolton) I had worn a shirt that didn’t show any of my skin and i had a jacket over it and they had tried to dress code me. We had just gotten a new dean, Ms.Bolton who has changed some of the schools rules. If you want to go to the deans office you have to hand them your phone etc. The rules are overly strict and there are many fights. Ms. Espinoza makes a situation worse, like one time I literally ate a chip while on my way to lunch and I got 2 days of lunch detention. The teachers are not that great either, they have favorites, and their “favorites” can be talking about drama and rumors and not get in trouble and another student can be discussing the work and they will get in trouble.
