I feel the teachers in the class are dedicated and overall kind. I feel systems in place for students are not individualized when there are resources to do so. Discipline has room for growth. Children in kindergarten are issued out of school suspensions disproportionate to offenses. Local and state policy’s are not followed, microagression is an issue and there is a lack of understanding in child development in practice with the children by leadership. Communication by parents who are strong advocates are discouraged even when attempting to do so respectfully. The school does have a lot of parent involvement. It is a beautiful school. One of the newer elementary schools in the community. Our experience has been unfortunate.
I went here for the first 3 years it was opened starting in 3rd grade. The teachers were very friendly and helpful; 2 of my all the favorite teachers taught me there. It is a very supportive community with many available resources. Since it is a 2 story school, there is open elevator access for anyone who needs it. Large and new play area with optional undercover spot for tons of opportunities for play.
