The haircut has been *okay* at best each time I’ve gone there. It would have been at least a little better if the students would make painstakingly sure they were on the right track while cutting my hair, but they tend not to communicate well. This was especially the case today. The guy asked my name and what I wanted (good), I told him I wanted it all the same length, and he said, “Okay, I’m gonna start with a 4 guard and let me know if it’s short enough.” (not good) Little did I know, the 4 guard is, like, a centimeter.
Now, I thought the head check would be a good opportunity to communicate my disappointment, but it was not so. All she asked was, “It’s it short enough for you?” which was not the issue. She should have asked something like, “Are you satisfied with the job the student did?” and if she had dismissed the student, I would’ve said, “No, [reason].” But, being that I’m awkward in person as it is, and not wanting to make the student look like an ass in front of everyone (and myself feel like an ass), I opted to say, “Yeah I guess…”
All this to say, communication is the key to a job well done. Communication is not a priority to these people, in my experience. I would advise either going to the Paul Mitchell Academy and paying $20+, or else going to a proper barber with fully trained and graduated employees.
These are students so it takes a bit longer. But thats a good thing as they want to get a good grade! The boss comes by to check everything before you are done.
I read reviews about them not being friendly. One of my kids barbers was, one wasnt as much. It annoyed me that he had an earbud in his ear. Being from an older generation, I find that incredibly rude, but a) Im not his boss and b) unfortunately thats how things are these days. This did not impact his ability to cut hair, which is why I was there.
We will definitely go back! You cant beat the price. $6 for a cut! (Sides shaved, top trimmed and faded to all look nice) I did leave a tip.
