Both my children (year 2 & year 5) love coming to school everyday. I am confident the staff know them well and see the best in both of them. If there’s anything they struggle with academically or emotionally the teachers are ready to listen and support them. The school also has an amazing atmosphere of community and children are taught to respect and care for each other. I love how multicultural and diverse the school is and that my children are taught about other faiths and cultures whilst growing in their own faith and relationship with God. I am happy sending them here everyday and would highly recommend the school to others.
Bradford Christian School provides a holistic educational program where children of all ages are taught in an atmosphere of love and happiness. Christian values are upheld strongly and can be seen in the moral values that the children develop as they pass through the school. Parents are also well supported as there is an open access to all teachers and concerns are always promptly addressed. If you are looking for a good Christian school in this area, where your child will be taught with love and treated as a unique individual with a community of parents and teachers that are supportive, then BCS is the place to be. I have no regrets!
Although many of the teachers are caring and great at their job there is a lack of attention towards the bullying that goes on. The teachers almost never side with the victim and the bullies get away with way too much. My brother attends BCS and the things that many of the boys say to my brother often go unnoticed by teachers even in class, in fact one time one of the boys said something incredibly rude to him and the teacher laughed. I personally had a great experience at BCS but was shocked when my brother told me his experience. One of my close friends also had a similar experience in which the teachers would often be quite rude to him for no reason, and despite him being an overall good student he was treated like a problem student.
The school needs to drop the word “Christian” on the name of the school because they are anything but Christian. We rang the school enquiring about the school for our daughter. We were told to come to the school for an application form. As soon as the staff set eyes on us the tone changed to “we don’t have any application forms. Go to our website and send an enquiry”. How prejudicial can one be? In this day and age. At least they showed their true colours to us the parents. I can only imagine what treatment our child would’ve received if she gone to the school.
Went there from nursery to year 4.
Was treat as a problem child.
Wasn’t given the same respect as those around me.
Forced to face the wall if I misbehaved, felt like something you’d see in a documentary on China.
Reading the bible was mandatory.
In year 2 or 3 I remember getting a hard slap on my hand.
Forced to partake in a school play by teachers (turned out to be fun though, but I digress.)
My year 3 teacher continued to complain to my mother about me. (She was dealing with stuff, yet the teacher knew this)
Felt so unwanted at the school that I continued to ask my mother to move me to a public one, where I actually got respect.
The school (at that time) was a miserable place that, now that I looked back, felt more like a cult.
I wouldn’t recommend going, this is coming from my past experiences.
