Brandwood school was the best primary school I had ever been to. I was I year 4 when I left the school because I moved house but I still remember the things I did there, the friends I made there and the teachers who teached me. My favourite teacher was Miss Foster – my reception teacher. Brandwood school had been in my generations and my mother went there as a child. For that reason I would hate for Brandwood to be shut down.
I was a pupil at the school, then called Brandwood Street County Primary School, from 1954 to 1960. It was an excellent school, and I remember one teacher in particular, Mr Hardy, my 4A class teacher. Things he taught me have stuck in my mind ever since and I feel they helped me pass the Eleven Plus. Unfortunately I missed the last part of my final term with appendicitis.
I was a pupil at this school between 1975 and until 1979. I was taught very good by the teachers and they were role models for me. I still remember the days at Brandwood. I now live in Essex but I still treasure my memories at this school.
