James has been our son’s teacher for some time now and he has reignited his love for playing guitar. He looks forward to his lessons every week and we have noticed a massive improvement in his overall guitar playing. He says “James is a great teacher and guitar player and my lessons are good fun”
James is a great teacher, I’ve been playing 30+ years but only had lessons in the last 3 years and as usual there’s always something new to learn, whether a new track, technique, theory or just how to enjoy playing. James has a relaxed approach which suits me down to the ground, but I still feel accountable to practise, which is what drives fast improvement rather than constant noodling. He does all this whilst maintaining the enjoyment of playing tracks. James picks up and gives constructive feedback which encourages and aids faster learning. The little videos he sends to cement the learning process are so useful. Overall I feel that I’m always improving. Well worth having the tuition.
James is simply brilliant at teaching guitar. As someone who is almost 50 and only started playing a couple of years ago, his friendly and relaxed manner have been exactly what I needed. His approach of learning the instrument (and basic theory) by diving straight into songs is a brilliant way to learn and have fun at the same time. His passion for music, and his incredible talent as a guitar player shine through, and the lessons fly by. I only wish I’d discovered him years ago when my kids were trying guitar as I’m sure they’d have stuck with it if he’d been their teacher!
James has been teaching our kids the Guitar and Banjo, his knowledge is great and is able to tailor his teaching to the child/person. We would highly recommend him for any instrument.
James is a very patient, focused guitar teacher. My son is only 7 so his attention is limited, but James is able to engage with him at his level and connect with the style of music he enjoys. James is a very talent guitarist which is a great inspiration to his students.
