Brooklyn High School of the Arts provides a phenomenal academic and artistic experience while also nurturing a warm and welcoming community. At this school, not only do students have the opportunity to experience NYC’s arts hands on through partnerships, private lessons, and school trips, but they can participate in a multitude of AP courses that will give them a head start in college level work. Students are encouraged to explore their identity more in depth and are given the space to be true to themselves and their various backgrounds. As a clarinetist and tenor saxophonist who attended the instrumental program at this school, I say that this school provided me with all the necessary tools to become a music educator. If you take advantage of the opportunities this school gives and make the most out of your education, you will go far.
As a senior in high school I can truly say that although my high school experience hasn’t been perfect I’ve gotten a really good education with teachers and administrators always at your corner. Teachers at this school want to see you do your best. This school is simply full of kind creative and very talented people. BHSA is a community that I have been happy to be apart of.
