keep in mind that students only have 8 teachers a year maybe 10 depending on electives so you cant really generalize all teachers into that category of having favorites or being bad teachers overall. also keep in mind that it depends what level classes you have… regular classes usually suck, im in honors right now and have been in pre-ib classes. you learn alot and teachers are engaging, obviiously theres some you might like more than others and some who you just think about asjust teachers. since my first freshman day til now i havent had a teacher that i genuinely dislike. some students dont like teachers just because they assign too much work or if theyre strict, they are teachers after all and have to set order. apart from academics , socially it is okay, you see alot of diversity. there is at least a fight during lunch a week and i have seen some studennts get arrested. again, these are the students decisions, it isnt the schools fault nor the teachers. as long as you know who to hang out with and you take higher level classes this school is great and offers alot of opportunities. p.s cape high has the second highest test score overall in lee county, with fort myers high being in first place so other people cant say that nothing is learned, test scores prove it. oh and the sports teams are great, boys soccer got until semi finals for regionals and basketball played districts today i believe
Very discriminative school district, as well as very unethical policies and rules. A few decent teachers, but a large majority aren’t very good. Most do not seem to understand what they are teaching, and or like to make up their own rules, then suddenly retract their statement and act like they never said anything at all. A student in the school has also went to a vice principal, about a bullying matter, and only got a response back of “What do you want me to do about this? I only have one side of the story.” Avoid sending your students to this high school at all costs, It is neither a good work environment, nor is it a good learning environment. This school has a history of unethical practices, like the baby fetus in a science room, and like to tuck issues like these under the counter. Look up the news article on that if you don’t believe me. This is no safe environment for a student to learn in.
Its a horrible school…at least it was when i attended anyway! Like one student said they charged for everything. The teachers all had attitudes and only paid any attention to there “favorite students”. I never heard ANYTHING positive from any of the teachers OR staff. The students were almost all bullies and all they talked about was sex and drugs… unless the were in the IB then they talked about sex, drugs and they’d put EVERYONE else down for being “stupid”. I’ve even witnessed a few teachers talking to the students about these things… I wouldn’t be caught dead at that school again… I REALLY hope its changed…
