My daughter started this school at the end of last school year (5 weeks before school was out). From day one, I have been so impressed with the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff here. I notice that they are going to be tough on these children as far a behavior is concerned… they don’t allow them to cut up and waste time, but they redirect in a way that the children understand and I feel that it comes from a good place. I am not getting a bunch of calls and texts for petty normal age appropriate behaviors like before and my child isn’t constantly being removed from the learning environment. She seems to be adjusting pretty well. Her inquisitiveness and the way she looks at a person, is not being confused with having an attitude; it’s just who she is. I have no doubt based on observations to this date that the people here are caring and mature teachers, staff and administrators. They are setting higher expectations for minority children than most schools in the county (public and private). That is a plus from my point of view. I want my child to be challenged academically so she can stand among the best students regardless; and I want her to be respected as a person and redirected when needed so that she understands respect and obedience as a young person. It’s a family atmosphere, it’s clean and it’s way more than I ever expected. They earned a B grade this year which is awesome, I am looking forward to doing what I can in helping them become an even better school by getting involved and being there to help my child succeed. CSLS is the best, I’ve been their since 4 grade but know I’m leaving the best school ever with a 4 in math and a 5 in reading on my FSA testing.??????????????
