I have to agree with the others. I walked in once while one of the yard duties was, in my opinion, torturing the kids on a rainy day.

She insisted that kids between grades 1-6 that were forced to share a lunch because of a rainy day put their heads down on the table and be completely silent.

Them being children and no recess, they were quiet enough, in my opinion. But complete silence was not acquired and the playground Nazi threatens to take recess away tomorrow if they were not completely silent.

She was yelling and in my opinion being disrespectful. The other yard duties seemed to be scared of her. They let the dictator continue. I was going to say something to the office, but instead spoke to my son after school. He said everyone e hates her.

Instead of reporting her, which may have done nothing. I had to accept that my child will encounter people like her in life. And the best I can do is to train him to recognize these types of people and avoid them or stand up for yourself.

School lunch is terrible, more like jail food. But that is Elk Grove Unified School district for u

I attended this school from k-5 grade. Some yard duties definitely did not treat children in the right way. Once, they came up with the rule to not let a class out to recess unless all of them had finished their lunch. This resulted in one class throwing out their food without eating because they wanted to go to recess. None of the yard duties noticed, and let that class out. All other classes started doing the same thing, and almost no children actually ate their lunch. The yard duties didn’t notice until a long while after, then they changed the rule to the quietest class went to recess first. Be aware of happens at your child’s school.
Nice school but need to work on having good yard duties. Due to my experience in the past going here, some teachers did curse at us and 4th grade haunted me because of my teacher. i don’t know if it is now but a lot of people in my grades back then did judge each other a lot. Maybe it was just us, i don’t know…but not everything turned out good
