CMMS is a new world. No longer will you experience what the negative old reviews portray. I even drive my son past two more northern middle schools to get there. Definitely recommend seeing for yourself. Take one of the Magnet tours. Now granted Charter status, the daily schedule actually keeps my son engaged. With structure, high standards and expectations, I have seen a huge change in the attitude of so many students. They are empowered to take ownership in their own education and are learning to be leaders. EVERY child. I used to avoid middle schoolers, but these are awesome young adults. Thank you to Mrs MacWilliams and the incredible team she has spent the last 2 years building up. They are top notch. Sad to only have one more year left after this one! Wish they would add grades 9-12 here!
Carroll Middle School is not a good place to send your child. There are some instructors who are good but overall, instructors are mainly obsessed with yelling versus communicating in a professional manner, being rude and masking the fact that testing scores are sub par. There have been multiple changes in administration to attempt to turn this school around, to no avail. My family is thrilled that our child is transferring out of here. The experience here is a stark contrast to that of our elder child’s 6-8th grade experience at West Millbrook Middle.
