well its interesting to say the least. Look if you can deal with bullying, immense stress and terrible support then you might get a decent education. The equipment here is great but to get a teacher that knows how to interact with more than 5 children at a time without causing depression for most of them, well that’s up to luck. I went to this school until tenth grade and got immense depression due to terrible teachers and the only reason i live to write this review is i won the lottery with parents (i love them very much) so if any parents find this homeschool is your best option but don’t trust random people on the internet, trust your kids they know what they need and if you think its a phase it usually isn’t. your children deserve the best don’t overwork them, be there for them and let them explore their worlds.

Mayla, local friend 🙂

I’ve only been here 3 years and I have so much to say about this school. I’m not writing this because I have a grudge because of getting in trouble, it’s the facts.
1. The uniform rules. No jewelry, makeup etc.
This year they have changed a bit of the school uniform policy where it says you can wear foundation. However, the number of times I have gotten in trouble for having ‘too much’ makeup on for having concealer and a light powder is indescribable. There’s been a few teachers that fully target certain students for wearing makeup and always goes for them and not the other girls who the teachers’ favorite. ALSO, WHATS THE BIG DEAL WITH THE SOCKS!? we can only wear white socks and if we aren’t we have dumb consequences. We can’t wear undershirts/non-school jumpers over the top of our uniform even if it’s like 2 degrees outside like we’ll just freeze then tf? We can wear a necklace that holds religious significance but not cultural/spiritual significance, and then the school goes ahead to say they’re not racist, make it make sense.
2. ‘student quality’ I find it absolutely hilarious when I see some of these reviews when some people be saying that the school treats everybody equally. Some examples are racial discrimination. You will frequently hear teachers getting angry with foreign students for speaking their language no matter how good they are with English. Alot of teachers target kids of color like only troubling them and not white kids. Another example is the favoritism… I’ve been in the music class ever since coming to centenary and the rest of my class are teacher pleasers and the teachers are so easy on them. Me on the other hand, because I’m not as goodie 2 shoes as them, teachers have treated me differently to the other kids; I get in trouble for things even if other kids are doing the same and petty stuff like that. I’ve seen and heard about this type of things happen frequently with a lot of different teachers and students. Also, if a SPC kid threatens/abuses another student, they don’t face any consequences, but the other kid does because the sped kids matter more apparently. We’re all different but you shouldn’t treat students any different regardless of their abilities and what-not.
3. The money the school has wasted. This year the school invested in a 14M dollar building just for music when we already had a perfectly fine music block?? They can spend millions of dollars on a music block, renovate the newest buildings in the school etc but can’t afford to have the decency to treat kids the same? lmao
okay now for the good things
1. the chicken burgers
2. variety of subject choices
If you’re still reading this, thanks for listening to my yap
The school has gone downhill since Mr cook has taken over. My reasons 😉

Top one: THE amount of people doing vapes, weed bringing knives to school like come on I’ve have been seeing about 5 people a day high and teachers do not do anything about it!!

1. Doesn’t know how to run the school, the school board has made a mistake.
2. The punishments are to harsh and the rules are honestly stupid
We cannot wear jewellery, we can only wear white socks what with this school and socks like seriously?! on free dress day we can only wear ‘appropriate’ clothes like who are we distracting?! WHILE teachers can wear as much jewellery as they want, makeup as they want, they should be leading by example, not the opposite way around.
3. What’s with Miss Hindmarsh she is going way overboard and needs to chill out or get out!
4. Tuckshop prices, yes I understand inflation but come on the zipper dippers 60cents
5. The teachers are not teaching properly all they care about is discrimination, necklaces and SOCKS!
6. What’s with this new music block we don’t need it, like seriously?! We need renovations to other buildings!
7. This bloody phone rule, it was introduction a term early, stupid honestly, teachers would yell at you if you accidentally had it out, and now I was in class, my teacher just pull out their phone and started to have phone calls, go on Facebook or whatever.

I hope centenary is reading this cause step up your game otherwise imma take this straight up to you guys at the office and read it to you.
Mr cook please leave xoxo

Really good school!!! Was facing anxiety and other issues, I had a case manager that would do daily check-ins on me to see how I was going, was given an exit card for a 10 minute break to go to a quiet space and could access support if needed .pretty clean school grounds, love the performing arts centre
A teacher threatened to take my formal invitation, so I looked at her dead in the eyes and said I’m not going and I walked away, then I got done for disrespect
